Long Ago
Long, long ago so the story is told,
Of a Man who was born to be a King.
He had no throne or a crown of gold
And His palace was only an inn.
He worked as a carpenter most of His life
A working class home you could say.
He wore no fine clothes, He didn’t live in style.
What sort of a King could He be?
But He died on a cross and was sealed in a tomb
And He says that He did it for me.
But the stone rolled away and He rose from the dead,
What sort of a King could he be?
What sort of a King could he be?
Down thru the years as the story is told
A question that cannot be denied
How could a Man who was born to be King,
Be nailed to a cross, crucified?
How could His followers leave Him to die a death of such agony?
His only crown was a crown of thorns,
What sort of a King could He be?
What sort of a King could He be?
But He died on a cross and was sealed in a tomb
And He says that He did it for me.
But the stone rolled away and He rose from the dead,
What sort of a King could he be?
What sort of a King could he be?

CHRISTMAS : SEASON OF SHARING
Christmas
is the time of giving and sharing. A
Swedish proverb says "shared joy is double joy, shared sorrow is
half sorrow", which
reflects the purpose of Christmas. Jesus Christ the son of God, came to this
world to share the sorrow and to give the joy of Heaven. Amy char Michael once
said these lines "You can share without loving but you cannot
love without sharing".
Two
thousand years ago on this Christmas day Jesus was born to fulfil the mission
of sharing God's love. The great army of angels shared their glad tidings of
joy with shepherds saying 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
good will toward men' Luke 2:14, the shepherds shared their heavenly bliss with all the
people around and wise men from East after
adoring baby Jesus, offered(shared) their gifts with Jesus.
"The
greatest gift is, portion of yourself''
are the lines quoted by Ralph Emerson. Jesus wants you more than any precious
gift offered by you. In this age of Globalization and instead of being a
worrywart, share your time and sorrows with God. Jesus came to minister not to
be ministered. Jesus says in St.Matthew 11:28 "come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Jesus
leave the crown and throne of Heaven to save the world from sin and
selfishness. 'He himself took upon Him the form of servant made in likeness of
man' says St.Paul. Jesus put forth us an example of sharing love and kindness
towards destitute, poor, sick orphan and even enemies. Little words of love and
little deeds of kindness are becoming a rare part of our lives now-a-days. Mother
Teresa says " If you judge people you have no time to love them " .
Let us learn love, kindness from the simple life of Jesus.
The
Father of our Nation, M.K.Gandhi
used to say " To share pleasure to a single heart by a single act is
better than a thousand heads bowing in prayer" . We can find this in the
Gospel of New Testament. 'The meekest carpenter of Nazareth' Jesus, wants every
one of us to be like Him in sharing and loving people in this blissful season.
